We Want Fay To Go Away

I know Nikki is going to think I'm nuts - blogging at a time like this. It seems as though Mother Nature is raging with almost full fury outside. But since we currently have still have electricity, I might as well write about our day thus far. It's raining and gusting winds with lots of thunder. It's been raining and gusty all day long. However, the weather is getting much worse. The siren in Omega went off about an hour ago. We didn't get in the closet that time. However, Joe laid on the bed listening for the "freight train" sound. I decided it was time to change out of my house dress and put on some real clothes (even my over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder for my "girls"), "just in case". We've had the television on and tornado warnings have been coming fast and furious. Neighbors and family members have been calling to warn us of all this increasing bad weather. The television says that 25,000 people are without power, so far. Hopefully, Georgia Power Company won't have to come make a visit for us again after last night. I think all this is made worse with the fact that it will be becoming dark soon. The map is what is being shown on the TV and all the red spots are suspected tornadoes or forming ones according to the National Weather Service.

We did wake us this morning and found out that we lost one of our Bradford Pear trees that was over 20 years old. Apparently the wind was too strong for it last night. We've also had some of the flat roof over the carport ripped off. If that's all the problems we have though, we will have been very blessed. The dogs have no idea what the heck is going on. We've let them out off and on today do their business. When they come back in they're wet and stinky, so they've spent the day in the back room.

I tried calling Corey and Nikki to let them know what was going on, but nobody answered their phones. Where are those kids? Probably having a nice afternoon picnic up in the canyon far away from all this liquid, blowing sunshine.
