Derek's 4th Birthday

Derek almost age 4 riding the bicycle Papa Joe gave him for his 2nd birthday.  (The new tricycle showed up from Papa Joe at Christmas).

Corey, age 4, on the machinery with my Uncle Harce at our home in Omega.  The city had just completed using our backyard as a construction area for the new city water tower.  Uncle Harce was hired to level and reseed our back yard.  That's Les in the right-hand side of the picture heading to his old blue truck with the camper on the back.

Due to a number of factors, i.e., Joe's health, Nikki having been sick, weather, etc., we were not able to celebrate Derek's birthday with him this year.

Derek's 3rd Birthday Party (From the Weaver Perspective)

The primary reason we went back to Utah in February was to help celebrate Derek's third birthday. We've been very fortunate to celebrate his birthday every year.
Oh look! It's a present from Papa Joe. What can it be? It's a bicycle helmet! And it's got some of the "Cars" characters on it!Now what did Grandma Carol bring me? Then it was time to blow out some candles and eat cupcakes...

One Cupcake Was Not Enough

Derek disappeared the night of his party and was found partaking of another cupcake. He had apparently climbed up on a chair and then a barstool to reach the cupcakes and helped himself. Interesting way to take the first bite, huh?

Derek's birthday party was attended by his other set of grandparents, his aunt and cousin and some family friends and their little girl and Grandma Carol and Grandpa Joe.
This is the tricycle given to Derek by Grandpa Joe and it's being tried out by Derek's "future wife".

Derek's Second Birthday - Pre Party

Before Derek's birthday party, Corek and Nikki had tied several balloons in various places in the living room and kitchen which intrigued Derek. When he thought his parents weren't looking he decided he was going to gather a few, but with no success.

However, he did find the group of balloons which were weighed on the bottom and he moved those around...
