Dr. Stephanie

This is our family doctor - Stephanie (with Flat Riley). Isn't she a cutie?! Hmmm, I wonder if she's the reason why Joe doesn't mind going to the doctor (and often)?

Her family runs a ranch north of Casper and that's where I'm hoping we go to watch cattle be branded sometime this spring.

468 Miles - 11/7/09

We headed off on another adventure this morning with the destination being Shell, Wyoming. This is a place we'd been before (see August 24th blog for reference), but since Flat Riley had arrived, we thought this might be an interesting place to take him and get some fossils for him and his classmates. (That would be #4 on the map).

While driving on the interstate north, I spotted the moon still in the sky and took this pictures which I think look incredible.

These pictures were taken to show the lack of traffic on a "major" interstate which runs from Colorado to Montana through Wyoming.

We arrived in Shell with no problems since I didn't take the "Road From Hell", but stayed on the major highways this time. However, we did have to alter our intended route home as there was a big snowstorm coming up over the Bighorn Mountains.

Flat Riley Arrived Today

Just a note to let everyone know that Flat Ryan arrived in the mail today. Rather than write in detail about his adventures, I've begun another blogsite to document his visit with us for the next five months.

If interested, you can go to flatriley.blogspot.com keep up with him.

It's A Boy!

In an earlier blog, I was talking about our participating in a "Flat Stanley" project and anxiously awaiting our own flat student.

I found out this afternoon that we will be the proud parents of "Flat Riley" and he was put in his own personal envelope and mailed to us today. So, we will be looking forward to the arrival of our new house guest in the next few days.

Be prepared...if you are a regular reader of the blog, you too will come to know and learn about the adventures of Flat Riley in the next five months until his return home in April.
