Lots of snow again today...

The furry kids didn't let the snow bother them...

First Big Snow of 2011

We had been warned about lots of upcoming snow on 12/30 and it started that evening. This picture shows it just beginning and how light it was outside even at 11:30 p.m. The light from the city and our street was reflecting off the snow.

This is my netbook that I had sat outside so that Mom and Dad in Georgia could participate in what the snow looked like. It just so happened that Aunt Rachel, Aunt Ruth and Aunt Alice were there so they could see the tour of the snow coming down. I had a towel and some aluminum foil over the top of the chair to keep the falling snow from the computer.

A couple of days later, I went out to the car to make sure it would still start. When I opened up the front door I notice something stuck to my seatbelt and then saw some brown ice in the back seat. I opened up the back door and this is what I found. It was frozen, exploded Diet Pepsi. I had forgotten to bring in two 2 liter bottles that had been left in the car. Because the temperature dropped to 30+ degrees BELOW zero, one had blown up...

Snow Scenes

It snowed over a week and a half ago and here are some of the lingering snow scenes -

Just Like Wet Dog Doo Doo

We've had a lot of rain and snow recently here in our Casper area. In fact, we've had more rain in the last couple of weeks than we've had in the entire time since we moved here. All this rain and snow has caused some havoc out in the oilfield. It turns the mud into something akin to wet dog doo doo. No kidding! And it sticks to everything, but at least it doesn't smell like wet dog doo doo.

Here is a contingency of trucks lined up for a meeting at our office conference room...

This is what the front of one of the vehicles looked like after splashing through the mud...

This is some of the gloppy, wet mud on the pavement in front of my office...

This is one of the outside grates that is used to wipe our boots and shoes off before entering the buildings. It's supposed to help keep our floors a little cleaner. Those are my boot prints.

And these are my boots...that I wore instead of my old tennis shoes. They were no match for the snow and mud.

And, this is the floor around my desk covered with the mud and dirt stuck on my shoes...

This is some of the liquid mud that got on my pants as I slid out of the truck that morning. I've learned that you don't wipe it off, but rather let it dry. Then, and only then, do you try to remove it by crumbling the dry mud and scrapping it off.

May 6th, Yes, May 6th Snow!

Those are my footprints when I walked outside to take these pictures...(and the door locked behind me so I had to walk around the other side. It was cold)!

Then I came back inside and fixed myself a big cup of hot chocolate to eat along with my fruit...

Last Snow of Spring?

Could this/would this be the last snow we'd have until this fall? We hope so since this was big, fat wet snowflakes on April 10th! Please may we have some Spring?!

Is This Spring...?

...I don't think so! This was the scene at work the second week in April.

And then the sun came out in the afternoon...

Sunday Digout

This is what our sidewalk looked like Sunday afternoon after another full day of snow all day Saturday. And, this was after everything had been cleaned off Friday and Saturday multiple times...

And this is afterwards again!

I just try to think of it as exercise while I'm huffing and puffing!
