Powder River Pass
We headed south out of Buffalo to explore another part of the Bighorn Mountains. This is the section that we drove through last weekend, but it was in the dark and we wanted to see what we had missed. We came upon Powder River Pass which is a mountain pass that crosses the southern end of the Bighorn Mountainsbetween the towns of Buffalo and Ten Sleep with an elevation of 9,666 feet on the Cloud Peak Sykway. Look at the snow! in the middle of August.
