Hanging With Derek - Day One

Since Corey and Nikki were going to work and since Papa Joe was going to dialysis, that left Derek and me the opportunity to spend time together.

First order of business, after dropping Papa Joe off at the "doctor's office", was breakfast for Derek.  We headed to McDonald's since they have a fantastic play space for little people.

Though he said he didn't want to eat anything, Derek gobbled up some pancakes, hash browns, scrambled eggs and chocolate milk.  Then it was playtime...

Then it was off to Sam's Club to see if there was anything we just had to have - there wasn't.

Next stop...a craft shop once again to see if there wasn't something that needed to be purchased.  Nope.  Just a free red balloon for Derek.

Then it was on to a luncheon date with a very dear friend.  Because we'd gotten to the restaurant a little early we sat out in the beautiful weather on the bench.  Derek enjoyed watching the equipment clean up on a construction site.

Then Melissa showed up and we went in to eat at an Indian buffet which I thoroughly enjoyed.  This picture does no justice to Melissa who is an absolutely beautiful girl.  She served her mission in Tifton and attended Joe's and my sealing in the temple.  It had been a little over three years since I'd seen her and it was wonderful having the opportunity to spend some time with her.

Then it was on to pick up Papa Joe from the "doctor's office"...
