- It rained ALL weekend long. Joe and I had plans to hike in a mountain basin with a guide from the National Historic Trails on Saturday. We WERE supposed to have gone and seen some 30 tipi (yep, that's they way they spelled it) rings and have some spectacular scenery. That was postponed due the the cold and did I mention...the rain?! So there went our Saturday plans.
- I had a conversation with my good friend, Marla, on Saturday morning. Then received a text a little later on, along with a phone call from her telling me that her husband had passed away. He'd been suffering from Alzheimer's since I'd moved here and he'd been suffering for the last couple of weeks.
- I got our Wills and Living Wills completed and signed and notarized. Now I'm working on insurance policies.
- I spent the weekend going through stacks of papers that had been accumulating and needed to be organized. Rather than running the old paperwork through my shredder and burning it up, I just put them in the wood-burning fireplace. That worked out well as it provided heat (and it was cold outside) and it got rid of lots of paper. Then I made file folders and actually filed papers properly. (Top drawer in the file cabinet in case anyone ever needs to find my organized paperwork).
- I've washed, dried and folded clothes, made split pea soup, ham, potato and cheese soup (once again, remember it's been cold this weekend).
- We turned the heat on. Remember this is the second week in June?!
- I've caught up on some of those programs I recorded over the past few months. I even tried to get Joe to watch "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2" with me. He watched the first one with me, but it was like pulling every tooth in his mouth.
- Oh, did I mention earlier that I went to the dentist too and had no cavities.
The sad thing is this though...this upcoming week may be even stranger. Joe has an appointment with his cardiologist tomorrow for an echo cardiogram. Wednesday is an appointment with a nephrologist (which is a kidney doctor) and then on Friday we head to Rapid City, South Dakota for a appointment with an eye specialist.
So, I think going to work in the morning will be a wonderful thing. At least there, it will be a sense of normalcy. But, it's still supposed to still rain most of this week. Oh, well.
