While in the process of still reviewing pictures taken on our last trip to Utah, I came across this one I took of Nikki and Derek which is one of my favorites. To me this shows true love of a mother for her child. It also brings back memories of how sweet a baby feels while in those rare quiet moments. If you look closely you will notice that Derek has his hand securely planted down along the inside edge of Nikki's blouse. How fortunate I felt to have also been initiated into this practice, as well as his great-grandmother Hazel.
I agree it is a sweet picture. When I hold Sammie she grabs my hair much like her uncles did at that age. I miss them crawling into my lap and cuddling.
