July 10, 1963 - Took one of my pearls. Had Jim a tie tack made for his birthday.
July 11, 1962 - Had to let Emico go when we moved to Johnson from Yokota. We all miss her. We are enjoying Japan.

Note: Emico was the maid mom was able to hire for only a very few dollars a week. I remember that I loved her so much, but we kids probably gave her a hard time. Remember we ranged in ages from 3-10 at that time.
July 13, 1963 - The children and I gave Jim his birthday gifts tonight. He was well please with his pearl tie tack.
