Christmas Eve 2010

May I just said a big "thank you" to Niklaz Zennstrom from Sweden and Janus Friis from Demark and the 1991 Cambridge University Science Department? These are the peoples who made it possible to spend Christmas Eve in Tifton, Georgia when you live in Casper Wyoming. These peoples either invented the webcam or Skype. (Did you know that Skype in the Swedish common vernacular means "sexually transmitted disease)? Oh, my!

On Christmas Eve eve Nancy and I got together and decided how we could be a part of the Christmas Eve celebration. Ultimately, she set up a computer in her living room where all the festivities would be held and then we could watch people who might also be watching us. It all worked out to perfection. See the picture below shows Granddaddy, Brittany, Vickie, somebody's butt (perhaps Helen?) and Amelia.

After the reading we had several of the little peoples come up to the screen and talk to Joe. He had his Santa hat on and apparently some of the young ones who did not know him thought he was the real Santa Claus and proceeded to tell him what they wanted for Christmas. It was really quite sweet. I was enjoying it so much I forgot to take pictures. We also got to hear Corey and Nikki on someone's phone after the reading.

When we said goodbye to everyone, Ally and Ryan popped on our Skype so we got to visit with them for a little while too. Ain't technology a wonderful thing?!?!
