I don't know what you did last night, but we went to the rodeo and it was my first rodeo partner! Wow, what an experience! So many things happening throughout the night.
Our tickets for the rodeo. We had great seats - four rows from the rail. We were so close that when the barrel racing was taking place, we got hit by flying dirt clots.

This is Linda (l) and Buttons (r). (She got that name as a little girl by her father because she kept fiddling around with the buttons on her dresses and blouses and the name just stuck). They are both experts on the rodeo business and live in Las Vegas. They were attending with a group of University of Nevada at Las Vegas college participants. Buttons kept me up to date on what was happening in each event and explaining the particulars of what should and should not happen. After all, I am only an "expert" on bull riding events.

The events that took place were: Bare back riding - that's where the guy virtually lies on the horse; Bronco riding which is like bullriding, but on a horse. (That's a great event). Tie down roping - the guy jumps off the horse and ties three legs of a baby calf with horns. The rope has to stay tied for 6 seconds or it doesn't count. Barrel racing - the girl can't knock over a barrel or it's a penalty and she does some fast moving on the horse. Tag team roping; goat tying; and my favorite...bullriding!!! 
There was even a clown who kept real close to his barrel. One of the bulls even came right up to him, after he'd thrown his rider, and stared the clown right in the eyeballs. All this was being taped by ESPN and is supposed to begin telecast on August 14th. So, if you watch it, keep an eye out. Maybe you'll see Joe and me on the television. I'll be the one hooting and hollering and taking pictures.
