What Was Your Husband Doing In The Kitchen at 2:00 am?

When the kids came back from Idaho the other night, they brought back a present for Joe - huckleberry jam. Joe loves toast for his breakfast and the kids know how much he LOveS huckleberry anything. When they gave him the jar, he face lit up and he you could almost see the drool running out of his mouth.
When Corey asked Joe what he was going to do with his jam, Joe exclaimed he was going to have some on some ice cream. (That is his favorite ice cream and he eats it anytime he runs across some).
Anyway, I woke up the other morning around 2:00 a.m. and Joe was not in the bed so I went looking for him. I caught him red-handed spooning some huckleberry jam over a cup of vanilla ice cream. He said he'd not been able to sleep just thinking of that huckleberry jam and knowing the ice cream was in the freezer. So rather than lie awake, he took action and them came back to bed and went to sleep.

A Day Spent With Derek

Our weekend with Derek began on Friday afternoon when Corey and Nikki left for a wedding in Idaho. Derek had his Elmo and his favorite blanket and the pictures tell the story...
checking to see if Mommy and Daddy had really left. They had.
Oh well, at least Thomas the Tank was still on the television and Grandpa Joe was watching too...
So, Grandma...what's on the agenda? Let's party!!!
Time for dinner!
Is Grandpa Joe coming to eat too?
Now it's time to play blocks with Grandma...
Beginning of the full day...Derek began his day the way the evening before ended...Elmo and the blanket...
Waiting on breakfast of grits and eggs (way to go southern boy)...
Later on that day he experienced what a diet Cherry Limeade from Sonic's tasted like. And boy, did he like it!!! (phase one of my plan to corrupt him and have him look forward to future visits - complete)...
Hey, mom it does have a cherry flavor and a lime slice and a cherry. See it's healthful.
Derek helping to get dressed so we can go to dinner...
Well, he did try, huh?
Now, we're ready to go...
See Grandma did get me some good food to eat and I'm eating it! Time to go...I am waaaay ready for a bath and bed...
But, first we stopped by Walmart so Grandpa could pick up something he'd forgotton at home. So I hung out in my carseat while Grandma took pictures...
Finally, my bath!!!
Then it was finally bedtime. Waahoo!

And a great day was had by all!

Leonard Landlord and the New Gate

This is what Leonard Landlord has now down to our front yard. We've been waiting for him to install the new front gate since we first moved in and he finally started. The problem is that he begins a project and then takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r to complete something.

I told him almost a week before we left to go to Utah that we needed to make sure the fence was complete so that the dogs couldn't escape while we were gone. He finally showed up, after dark, the night before we left and worked using spotlights to complete the gate. (pictures on that later).

We're still waiting for the pavement and construction junk to be finished and removed.

932 Miles - 10/23/09

Isn't this a gorgeous shot taken in Echo Canyon on the way back from visiting the kids? (BTW...the white mass in front of the mountain is not something on the camera. It's a low-hanging cloud).
These buffalo were beside Bear River State Park... These elk were there also... Snow clouds in the distance...
I love this shot... Then we caught up with the snow...
Saw these sights on the way to the kid's house...

Someone went hunting and got a BiG elk! And then we saw Tony Stewart's race car heading to a race in California. Joe is his FAvoRItE fan!!!
